Go for the Gold

photo c/o The Glitter Guide

While I may be jumping the gun, since Super Bowl is this Saturday and I am one to usually try to only focus on one major event at a time, I just cannot handle the adorable ideas that came out from The Glitter Gide today in their Sweet and Simple Oscars Viewing Party feature.

As you might recall from my post last year, TCB's Oscar Party is one of my favorite things to host all year. Working in sports means that I do a lot of non-girly things all day. This is by far the girliest thing I plan each year and I relish every minute of it.

What I loved most about this post was that some ideas are quite affordable to execute. And, these ideas do not need to be just for an awards party. Think movie night, birthdays, or any other reason to adorn your home in all things Glittery and Gold.

Check it out...

I love any kind of garland, but have not yet attempted a tassel garland like the above beauty.
While there are some lovely garlands ready to purchase on Etsy from Everly Lane Design,
I may attempt the DIY version courtesy of Camille Styles. Bring on the tissue paper and glue!
I love these drink stirrers. We've seen them before, but did you know that the garland you need to make them is CHEAP? As in, under $2. Thank you,  Amazon. Simply buy this stuff, cut into little short bits and hot glue to wood stirrers (is it bad to take a few extra from Starbucks next time you're there? I think not...)
What's better than regular glitter? Glitter you can eat. Again, Amazon offers a nice price.
I've always thought the popcorn cones were a cute idea, but was never sure how to hold them. I  swoon over the gold bowl above, but question  how practical it is once it's half full. Well, a little searching lead to this handy DIY lesson from These Wing Sessions using a shoe box (girl, I know you have one) and some pretty paper.
Looking for aforementioned Pretty Paper? Paper Source, per usual, has you covered.
One Last Idea I love, also from Camille Styles. Just toss some glitter confetti along the center of your table for a gorgeous textured runner. Easy and also cheap! You can buy this stuff by the pound (be careful where you scatter and when cleaning up, just scoop the entire table cloth over your trash can!).
That's all for now, my broads. More to come after my girly little party in a few weeks. Time for me to adorn some Gold for another reason. GO NINERS!
