I'll keep this short since it seems silly to post about anything else today. As we all know, events such as those that occurred on September 11, 2001 are the type that not only humble us but also serve as a reminder of just how precious and fragile life is.
Everyone spends days like today differently and, really, there should be no judgement placed on others for how they choose to grieve, remember or honor events of this magnitude. It seems as though nowadays with all of the outlets we have to share our opinions, we often forget an important voice.
Our own human voice.
So, on a day like today my muse is the phone. I'll be calling my best friend tonight. Phone calls (or "phone dates", as she and I like to call them) are something I look forward to and treasure . And no facebook message, text or blog post can replace the sound of a loved one's voice.
Pick up the phone. Call someone you love. Tell them just that.
For those of you out there who can't talk to that person you're missing on the phone, give them a call anyway. They'll pick up.
Until next time,
